Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki means "universal life energy" and is an ancient healing method that supports the energy that flows in the body. Reiki focuses on seven main energy centers, called chakras, in your body. When energy flows freely through chakras one feels balanced, spiritually, physically, and mentally. When energy paths are blocked, one may feel out of sync, emotionally strained, weak or even have pain. A reiki treatment session usually lasts an hour. The reiki practitioner puts his or her hands over or on your body at certain chakras in order to facilitate energy flow.
